Joe Atkinson is one of the best up-and-coming anglers in the sport. Wherever he goes, no matter what the challenge, he always seems to catch.

His fishing is based in Essex, but he occasionally travels to the popular Linear Fisheries complex in search of even more bites. He has also got a winners medal in the BCAC, which he achieved at the age of 18.

Q. As a younger angler who did you admire in the carp angling world and why?
A. As a young angler I never really aspired to be someone else in the angling world. My cousin was someone who I found myself engaged by his effort and thought process. As far as a public figure, Terry Hearn and Martin Bowler are two anglers who show great passion for the hobby we love and show adaptation in their angling. Also both having a healthy appetite to fish for a variety of different species, so they are a couple of stand out people for me.
