ONE OF A KIND

Big carp are all over the news almost every day, but it’s becoming increasingly rare that we catch wind of such greatly proportioned barbel being caught.

Liam Williams has done just that on a recent visit to the River Trent where he landed this 20lb specimen, a true one of a kind!

"Eventually, out of the blue, the boilie rod tore off and I was attached to what can only be described as a giant."

Liam told Sticky:

“I’d been carp fishing earlier that morning on a nearby stillwater, however, plans changed and I ‘upped sticks’ to the Trent in search of barbel, little did I know how my efforts would be rewarded! After taking a slight detour into the tackle shop on the way to pick up some fresh maggots I was soon at the river getting the rods out.

Committing maggots to one rod and a Sticky Baits Krill boilie on the other, it wasn’t long before the bream latched onto my maggot rod and I could hardly keep it in the water. The boilie rod sat stealthily whilst I constantly re-cast after each bream. Eventually, out of the blue, the boilie rod tore off and I was attached to what can only be described as a giant. After a good old-fashioned beasting, I could finally rest eyes on my reward and there, lying in my net, was something that I will remember forever!”
