TOM GIBSON REVEALS THE INS AND OUTS OF THE KRILL ACTIVE, TO ENABLE YOU TO BOOST YOUR CATCH RATES!

STORAGE

First and foremost, Krill Active is a freezer bait. For anyone unfamiliar with this concept, freezer baits contain no preservatives and have to be kept inside a freezer to maintain their freshness. Does this mean as soon as they defrost, they are ruined? Of course not! The unique coating process extends the life of The Krill Active outside the freezer. Baits tend to last up to a week without going mouldy, and as long as they are kept cool and dry, inside their own bag or bucket/bait bag they will be perfectly fine. Air drying is not necessary, unless you wish to firm up the baits even further for use with throwing sticks. If you have any leftover bait after a session, be sure to refreeze it, ready for your next one. As long as the baits haven’t been in direct sunlight, and haven’t started to produce white mould, they will be perfectly fine to keep for your next outing.

SIZING

Krill Active comes in every single one of our boilie sizes; 12, 16, 20 and 24mm. The measurement is for the internal boilie and does not include the outer coating. Once the coating breaks down, the boilie will be left in a pile of super soluble attraction.

BAITING

During our extensive testing period, we tweaked the coating of the Krill Active to ensure the finished baits would be as user-friendly as possible. Thanks to this effort, it can be used with every type of baiting device on the market with minimal fuss or mess. Whether you use a spod, catapult, throwing stick or boat, you will have no trouble introducing our enhanced, paste-wrapped baits! When using a throwing stick, just bear in mind, Krill Active is not perfectly round and will not go quite as far as a smooth, traditional boilie would. Lubricating your throwing stick with some lake water between baiting ensures the boilies won’t split and will make them fly straight to your spot. Air drying is not an essential and is only really recommended for use with a throwing stick, again to make sure the baits don’t split. Anglers who use spods, catapults or boats will have no trouble using their bait straight from the bag.

EXTRAS

Customisation is certainly still possible with Krill Active. By adding extra liquids and powders from our Pure Naturals range, you can make your bait stand out from the chap next door. However, by adding liquids to Krill Active, it tends to start the breakdown process that bit quicker. Due to this, a small amount of liquid goes a hell of a long way; as long as you don’t drown your baits, the coating will stay intact. Our Pure Calanus Liquid is perfect for the job, as are any of the fine powders from our Pure Naturals range. The only thing I will say here is, if you are adding liquids and powders, it might be best to use a spod or boat to bait up, just to minimise mess.

On a personal level, seeing the bait develop here in the factory was nothing short of mind-blowing. It is a great carp catcher and one I see myself using for many years to come. Already I have used the bait to great effect both in the UK and abroad. It is super-simple to use and it takes out any preparation time from my session; I can just open the bag and get it straight out in the lake. As a whole, everyone who has used The Krill Active has shown superb catch rates, and long may it continue!
