CONSISTENCY IS KEY
2nd November 2020
Jack Lamb is one of the most consistent anglers in our Catch of the Month competition every single month!
Catching fish consistently is the absolute key to success, and we can’t think of anyone more consistent in regards to our Catch of the Month competition than Jack Lamb. It’s clear Jack knows how to catch a fish or two and his consistent entries are a testament for that.
His more recent sessions have surrounded the Westbrook Mere where he has clearly got to grips with the fishing. As well as a number of lovely twenties, he also landed a new PB recently in the form of a 30lb 6oz mirror.
Jack's album of carp proves that his tactics work wonders!
Jack revealed:
“After seeing the weather forecast of a low pressure drop and heavy rain, I knew I had to get out. I arrived at the lake and went for a lap, I saw fish showing in an area where there wasn’t much angling pressure.
“I decided to set up in this area and put a rod where I had seen the fish showing and my other rod down my left hand margin. I put out a few handfuls of 12mm Manilla over the margin rod, but I decided to put a kilo of 12mm Manilla over the top of the other rod fished near a set of pads.
“Just as it got dark, the rod near the pads pulled up tight and as soon as I picked up the rod I could tell it was a good fish. After a 10 minute battle, the fish finally went in the net and it ended up being a new PB mirror of 30lb 6oz.”
