Two tuition bonus bites bring Gaz Fareham to cracking St. Johns carp.
Sven Frank – Monster Mirrors
27th June 2018
You cannot deny how efficient and consistent Sven Frank has been over the last month. Whilst fishing on very large, undisclosed German lake, the 24-year-old has managed to land not one, but two 30kg plus fish; with one of the Monster Mirrors setting a new PB for the overseas carper.
When we spoke to Sven about his latest ventures this is what he told us: “Unlike most catches today, there is no big back story to the lake I’m fishing nor the fish I caught, there are no named fish and no targets. The only build up to these two captures consisted of visiting the lake a few days prior to my first session to locate some spots and bait them, I opted to introduce mixed sized Krill boilies soaked in the matching Pure Krill Liquid.
When I arrived for my first session just a few days later I was met with very hot weather, but luckily that was set to change. After a heavy thunderstorm the fish grew very active and I was soon rewarded with a new PB in the shape of a 31.2kg(68lb 12oz) mirror! This huge framed mirror was then followed by two more fish including a 19.3kg (42lb 9oz) mirror.
With so much action in just one night I had to return. Approximately two weeks later my next visit was upon me, this time I had three nights ahead of me. This session wasn’t as prolific as the first, but I couldn’t complain as my net was graced by another monster mirror of 30.8kg. This huge carp had an equally huge mouth and would have had no problem engulfing my snowman styled hookbait that comprised of a 16mm Krill bottom bait topped with a Peach & Pepper pop-up.”
Sven’s trusted Krill and Peach & Pepper combo was later used to catch another mirror of 10kg and was also the winning ticket on his previous visit!
