Tez Taylor had to stay on his toes whilst fishing a north west boating lake, tactic which produced two of the lake’s best fish!
Rich Seeds enjoys a fruitful session on Linear’s Manor Farm Lake
27th July 2016
Short-session-specialist Rich Seeds recently checked in after a successful trip to Linear Fisheries Manor Farm Lake. Here’s how the session unfolded…
“With the high pressure and scorching temperatures; Manor farm and all the other lakes across the Complex had been fishing very slow and upon arrival, it didn’t look at all favourable. I had a good look around Manor and with only a few swims available; my options were very limited – so I opted for a swim that had a good amount of open water.
After having a good lead around, I found a small silty area behind some thick weed beds where I had seen a few fish cruising around throughout the day. Once my rigs were in position, I baited up quite heavily with a mixture of Hemp, Sweetcorn and a good helping Manilla boilies both whole and chopped. Little and often baiting was the key, keeping it topped up after every fish and also when the action dried up kept the bites coming steadily.
Rig wise – I stuck with my ever-faithful IQ2 ‘D’ Rig, which I mounted with a 16mm glugged-up Manilla Wafter. It turned out to be an enjoyable 24-hour session on Manor Farm with eight fish to my name and a few nice ones along the way including a gorgeous 23lb common and a 29lb 6oz mirror.”
