It’s Not That Common

Myles Gibson is without doubt one of the most consistent anglers in the UK, as one of his recent sessions on the tricky Dinton Black Swan goes to show.
Myles explains; “I had a three-night session ahead of me, so I decided to drop into an area I’d been paying a fair bit of attention to when possible, as the area is a very popular slot.
Fishing out at range, all 3-rods fished to separate areas, and baited in pretty much the same manner.
I put out a couple of kilos of whole and chopped Krill, along with a few good handfuls of Bloodworm Pellets mixed with The Krill Clusters scattered around the area
It turned out to be my best session on the lake to date. Hooking 14-fish and landing 13 of them, with the ‘big un’ coming in the early hours on my last night.
All fish were caught on small sections of Thinking Anglers Leadcore, fished with a lead clip set up, and my small homemade ‘fruity specials’ balanced out on big sharpened hooks.
The big 46lb 10oz common blew me away, and turned out to be ‘Petty’s Common’ which is thought to have been un-caught for 3-years. The other good fish I had that trip were a 34lb 8oz mirror, an insane 30lb 6oz linear, with the rest being 20’s and a few doubles.”
