Long Haul Success for Simon Batty
13th August 2016
Simon Batty made the long trip from East Yorkshire to The Quarry fishery in Essex, for a social with friends. With a few nights ahead of him, he set about trying to make it happen baiting on The Krill.
Simon explains: “To start I fished in a swim that is known as the Old Summer Point but it was proving to be hard going as after a couple of nights, I had only one fish to show for my efforts.
In the end I decided to move down to a swim known as the New Summer Point, as I saw a few fish showing in the area one morning.
Once I had moved into the swim I set about finding a couple of silty, clear areas in amongst the weed beds. Once found, I dispatched a dozen Spombs of my mix over each of the spots, it was then time to get the rigs out.
I opted to use a couple of Hinged-Stiff-Rigs, each baited with Krill White 16mm pop-ups. The next couple of nights I managed to land a further 5-fish, with the biggest being a stunning 27lb 9oz common”.
All of Simons fish fell to a mixture of Krill Boilies, Krill Clusters, Krill Pellets in a mixture of sizes and Pure Krill Liquid.
