Tez Taylor had to stay on his toes whilst fishing a north west boating lake, tactic which produced two of the lake’s best fish!
Joe takes forty on the surface
28th June 2016
Watching your quarry take the hookbait off the surface really does take some beating, especially when it’s one you dearly want to catch!
Joe Atkinson did just that on a recent session to Par Fisheries, where he managed to bag the lakes biggest resident off the surface, a fish known as NG at 40lb 9oz – making this capture even more special.
Joe had watched this particular fish the evening before and it wasn’t until the following day when the opportunity arose. It wasn’t just a case of turning up and catching, Joe had prepped a few areas whilst roaming around the lake. Bait wise – Joe kept trickling dog biscuits soaked in Cap Oil and fished a trimmed-down Manilla pop-up on the business end, which resulted in 14-fish over his 36-hour trip.
