Iban Maes Bagging up in Belgium
26th November 2018
The ever consistent Iban Maes recently had a very successful two-night session on an undisclosed Belgian Canal. During his time on the bank he landed a total of seven-fish, four of which surpassed the 30lb barrier.
Shortly after his session had ended, Iban emailed us regarding his success and this is what he had to say: “My latest visit to the canal proved to be very worthwhile indeed, on my first night I landed a lovely mid thirty mirror, which I braced with a smaller common.
Although the first night had been fruitful, I decided to move to another stretch and deployed the same tactics that had already proved to be successful. I fished with boosted Manilla Yellow and White Ones Wafters that I offered amongst a handful of 16mm Manilla freebies.
By the end of the following day the move proved to have been a very wise decision, I’d landed a further five-fish with three being over the magical thirty-pound barrier!”
