The Quarry kicks the Spring season off with a bang
The Quarry in Essex is well known for its epic stock of carp. If you like gnarly, old characters then the Essex syndicate is certainly the place to be. This was proven by Stuart Devenish, who landed the Broken Lin at 33lb 12oz. The 28-year-old fished a Krill pop-up over 3kg of freebies to a clear area close to a weed bed.
Also finding success on the historic venue was owner, Stu. He had a great hit of fish from his pre-baited area of Manilla, landing five fish. The catch was topped by three of the most coveted fish in the lake; Shoulders at 41lb, Orion at 42lb 14oz and Cassius at 43lb 12oz. Manilla was the bait of choice for Stu, who fished pop-up hookbaits over a heavily pre-baited area.
