Adam Smith arrived at Christchurch Lake on the Linch Hill complex, only to find that the lake was extremely busy and fishing very hard.
Adam explains: “The lake hadn’t done a bite in 6 nights, and with all the corners of the lakes being busy, the decision was made to fish open water in a swim that had been kind to me during the winter.
The bite came on the first morning, after a series of heavy shows and liners for about an hour beforehand. The take was sketchy, with the bobbin pulling up tight to the alarm. After a savage battle the net was sunk under this pristine carp. Once on the mat I realised which fish it was – the incredible Wood Carving at 37lb 10oz.”
Adam presented a small Krill wafter fished on a Blowback-style rig in conjunction with a 5ins hooklink, putted down, and 4oz flat pear leads. These were fished over 12 Spombs of crumbed Krill, mixed particles, hemp, Krill Clusters and Pure Krill Liquid.
