Tez Taylor had to stay on his toes whilst fishing a north west boating lake, tactic which produced two of the lake’s best fish!
Ben Leuty’s Farewell Success
17th January 2019
With his time on the Earith Carp Lakes complex coming to an end, Ben Leuty made the effort to squeeze two last sessions in on Virginia Lake before parting with his ticket.
The first of his two sessions took place over the New Year period when he managed 13 bites for 10 fish. Ben told us “The fish were reacting really well to the bait and bites were coming almost instantly after clipping the bobbins onto the line.”
Ben baited with chopped and whole Manilla boilies and topped the swim up after each fish with a further 5 spombs of bait. Accompanying his free offerings were his chosen hookbaits, and as always these were Manilla Yellow Ones. Amidst the 10 fish landed, a 25lb mirror was definitely the highlight of this particular session for Ben.
The following week Ben returned to Virginia and repeated his approach and even targeted the same line of snags at 100-yards range. His faithful Ronnie rigs brought him success once again with 8 fish being lured into his landing net, the biggest of which spun the needle round to a pleasing 32lb, and what a relic of a carp it was!
