A true winter carp named 'The Anchor' for Tom Loraine from The Essex Manor.
Adam Penning on Point!
3rd July 2016
Whilst out with clients, Adam Penning managed to snare one of the lakes most sought-after residents…
With the lake experiencing a heavy algae bloom, finding marginal spots with the naked eye was an impossible task. After seeing several carp ghost around the margins, Adam gently waded a rig out to put into position and with the water clarity being so poor – it was a case of prodding around until he found a suitable area. Once the spot was located, he then lowered his Multi Rig into position and threw a few handfuls of 20mm Krill boilies around his carefully placed trap.
A few hours had passed until the margin rod burst into action, and after a heart-stopping battle, one of the lakes most sought-after residents rolled into the net. Once he calmed down and got himself together, closer inspection revealed it was a carp know as Orion, one of the lakes big mirrors and one that very rarely sees the bank. The incredible specimen pulled the scales round to a spawned out weight of 38lb 2oz and brought yet another smile to Adam’s ecstatic face.
